Music Ministry

The Fullness of Christ International Ministries (FOCIM) Worship Team plays a vital role in the mandate given by God to the Church in equipping godly men and women as nation transformers by leading them into an atmosphere of worship and intimacy.

It aims to touch the heart of God through Davidic and contemporary praise and worship. With its objective of humbly serving Him in the spirit of excellence as ministers of music and dance, the team has participated in several local and international Worship conferences such as Touching Heaven Changing Earth in 2005, 2007 and in 2012 in Tacloban and the Cindy Jacobs Conference in 2009. The team has also been a part of numerous joint praise and worship concerts held by the Mandaluyong Christian Churches Association. Last 2010, the Team held it's first concert abroad entitled "Ascend" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Composed of four (4) departments, Vocals, Instrumentals, Dance, and Technicals, all of the members are bounded by faith, dedication and excellence in the ministry, and passion in serving God and others through music.

The Team is moving in great waves and it is in seeing the congregation connect with God that makes it all worth it.

The FOCIM Worship Team. One Body. One Voice.

Vocals

VOCALS

God calls us to worship Him passionately through singing.  This group exists to genuinely respond to this call: sing tunes from our hearts, voice out praises and create heavenly melodies for God.

As part of the vocals group, we are also called to lead the congregational worship.  Leading worship is an amazing service to God and to the church. While the real worship leader is the Holy Spirit, we remain open to its direction, always waiting for its small still voice and its powerful move.  Together with the rest of the Worship Team, just like King David, we constantly seek for God’s wonderful presence and the anointing of the Holy Spirit each time we sing.

“When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.” Joshua 6:20

Never did I imagine that learning the piano at the tender age five could lead to me becoming one of the leaders of a Church Worship Team. But upon reading the verse above and meditating on what that meant, I became more and more in love with the thought of being able to do great and mighty things for the Lord through praise and worship. After 10 years in the ministry, I have never grown tired of sacrificing and giving myself up for God and for His glory.

As Christians, we are all worshipers in our own right—there is no need for an instrument, a good singing voice, or a flexible body to be able to give glory to the most High! All we need is an open heart, clean hands, and a pure and ready mind. For those with the ability to do all these with music, or for those with an intense desire or longing to serve Him through music, I personally encourage you to sign up for the Worship Team. The hours may be long, the training sessions may be hard, and your patience, perseverance and dedication may be tested. All these will surely fade in comparison when you reach that point where your talents, and everything you worked hard for, are fully used for the advancement of His kingdom--  because nothing else brings pure joy than to touch the true heart of worship!

Instrumentals

INSTRUMENTALS

The aim of the instrumentals department of the worship team is to replicate the sound of heaven and bring it down to the congregation with just a beat of the drum, the strum of the guitar or bass, or the simple pressing of the keys of the keyboard. Through the use of the instruments, it is our utmost goal to usher in the congregation so that an encounter with God and His presence can be made possible.

Every member of the instrumentals department is committed to the following: (1) Commitment to serve the Lord through daily devotion; (2) Commitment to excellence through consistent training, (3) Commitment to serve others through music; (4) Commitment to train a new breed of members; (5) Commitment to care for one another as Christian brothers and sisters.

DANCE

The dance department of the worship team is the one who interprets the heavenly music through dancing. Through the choreography, we lead & encourage the congregation to express themselves with the simple body movements like lifting the hands, clapping, stamping the feet and jumping in praising and worshiping God.

"Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp." - Psalm 149:3

Dance
Tech

Being part of the worship team since I was eight years old, I've never thought that I will become one of the leaders of this team. From being a young simple member to being the head of the dance department, I'm still seeking excellence for the Lord and never feel tired to look for more trainings for the development not only of my talents but also of the members' skills in this department.

Devotion, passion & commitment is the three of the keys to see the amazing works of the Lord and to feel His wonderful presence in our lives through using our talents and skills in His ministry not only in the worship team but also to other ministries. In the Worship Team, the training may be hard but if you're doing all of these for the excellence to glorify the Lord and to seek His kingdom, He will bring greater joy in your heart and He will give abundant and unexpected blessings to your life.

TECHNICALS

The technical ministry at FOCIM is committed to raising the bar of excellence while striving to meet the technical needs of the church. Our tech volunteers work together to bring high quality sound, video, lighting, media presentations and media duplication to each service.

We are always looking for people who are faithful, available and teachable to help expand our teams.  Experience is helpful but a ministry heart is more important to us.
